Mother loved it Jun 12, 2009
By Michelle M. Leavitt This is the only gift that my mom ever called me to thank me for. She was impressed and loves the idea of keeping her purse hung up in bathroom stalls. She said that it looks great and loves how compact it is. Great mothers day gift.

little purse hanger Jan 07, 2011
By sarandipt If you don't know what it's for... the center weight has a non-slip backing, the silver part flips out and rotates around to become a hook. You put the pretty part on top of the table and the hook hangs down so that you can hang your purse on it at a restaurant. Once the hook is under the table, the center weight looks nice, and it's also unobtrusive. The design is capped with either glass or clear plastic such that it's not going to scrape off.
In some places the table may be too thick to get the hook around it - this doesn't happen to me too often. I've also use it at a bar by placing the weight on my seat and holding it down under my thigh. It's very compact and lightweight (unlike some other purse hangers), so it's very easy to carry around all the time, even for a small bag.
It comes with a little velvet pouch. You'll want to keep it in the pouch (or a tiny pocket) to both protect it from wear and to keep it compact. Without it, the hook can open up, flop around and get in your way. I bought a small drawstring toggle at a craft store (inexpensive) and attached it to the strings so that it's very easy to open or close the pouch. Otherwise the strings are difficult to tie securely and the hanger can slip out of it.
One purse I use it for is small and has a long cross-body strap made out of thick soft cord. I do a quick, loose, overhand knot in the strap and put the knot over the hook to make it short enough not to touch the floor. I also have a large, heavy purse (about 5 pounds!) that I hang from the ring between the body and the strap (strong purse). It works even for the heavy bag! I do have to watch my knees with the larger one, though, because I can knock it the table if I'm not careful!

Great little item! Feb 02, 2010

I bought one of these for my mother-in-law for Christmas and it was a big hit. I loved it so much that I bought two more, for myself and my own mom. Unlike most other purse hooks, this one folds up nicely. It comes with a velvet pouch and stores easily even in small handbags. It's nice looking and easily holds my fully packed purse. I love it!

Very Functional Device For Hanging Purses In Public Places Feb 15, 2011
By Random Product does as it says. The metal rim unfurls to become a hook that hangs below a tabletop for you to hang your purse on. The center disc with the design stays on top and has good grip.
I was surprised at how much weight this could handle. I pulled down with all my strength and could not get the device to dislodge or break. Durable. Will definitely handle a heavy purse no problem.
The only con is the hook is not very long (maybe 5-6 inches?) so you have to use it at a standard thickness tabletop. If the table you are at is thicker than normal you may not have any room left for the hook to hang.
Overall a very functional product with fun designs to choose from.
