Great idea, and good emergency preparation device Nov 13, 2011
By Bill in Milton, Fl. My wife and I moved to Florida from up north last year, and had to give some thought to preparing for an emergency like a hurricane, which neighbors have lived through....and had advice on. We started out by making up a "Bug-out bag" with essentials for "The big one." I found this little 9V battery strobe light, and thought I'd try a couple. I will be getting more, now that my grandkids discovered them. They would be great for keeping an eye on one another in a power outage, or driving storm. The kids liked them for use on camping trips, and more recently for halloween safety, and identification while moving about at night in their neighborhood trick or treating. The light lasts a long time on a battery (included), and will stay solid, or flash as your needs dictate. A great buy!

Bright lights in a compact design. Very cool, but be careful! The trying to attach flashlight to the battery shipped with it, caused a break in one of the contact posts. Be sure to remove the plastic ring first. Not sure why the plastic ring was there, but it was present on both batteries. Two days after receiving, our power went out during a storm and they worked very well.
Ok for what it is...... Jun 06, 2011

I have this kikkerland unit, a 6 LED unit, and a pak-light ultra. My likes... it has a strobe. My dislikes..... no hi/lo setting, pops off the battery too easily, feels like a cheaper product than the other two, the switch slides too easily (I have found it "ON" in my bag several times. I do keep one in my emergency kit just for the strobe ability, but not as a serious flashlight. These are fine for the kiddies in a power outage but the 6 LED models or the pak-light are sturdier. The Pak-light seems to be the most solid of the 3 (although its also the most expensive). I use the pak-light for camping/hiking/emergencies, The 6 LED model stays in my glovebox, and this kikkerland stays in the pocket of my pack (not on a battery), as a strobe or back-up to my pak-light.

Led flashlight Mar 09, 2011
By A. Roark Kikkerland FL12 Snap-On LED Flashlight with Strobe SettingThis little thing is great. I use it in my day pack for an emergency flashlight, doubles as a fire starter with a small amount of steel wool. I will order more to keep in my car and home.
