mickey collectors.. heads up, unique & cute as a button Sep 21, 2011

I have a friend who collects Mickey Mouse. For years she has bought and received so much Mickey merchandise that she has one room in her house full of and in great excess of purchases and gifts of Mickey from all over the states. This cute key cover is one item she didn't have. So I was so excited to present a 'new' item for her collection. Simple but darling. I intend to purchase A Mickey and perhaps another character to help distinguish my keys. It's also helpful to grip tight if your hands and fingers have become 'less than agile'. Grt idea. C
Key "Loser" not cover! Aug 22, 2011

This silly little investment in key covers/caps was supposed to ensure a grin and a "justifiable use!" Thus, I purchased this key cap/cover (along with about five other character covers too including Goofy, Minnie, and Donald Duck). It took about two seconds to notice that these covers are useless! Most key covers have a little hole punched through the top so that once your key is inserted, the hole in the key (which is inserted onto your keyring) lines up with the hole in the cover making it possible then to thread the now sandwiched key onto your keyring. In the instance of a key cover with a ball chain (like this one), the ball chain is normally passed through your key AND the cover and then attached through the keyring. Well with this cover, the ball chain passes through a top hole all right, but the key itself does not come anywhere near this. The key instead, is simply stuffed into the cap but nothing is holding your key to the keyring other than the keycap sleeve itself! It is extremely easy to simply pull the key right out of its cap since the key is not secured to your keyring.
I decided to keep the covers (since returning li'l things is inconvenient and I actually like the cute character faces)... but I will NOT be using them as key covers! They are now Christmas ornaments!
I'd look for a key cover that actually shares the punched hole WITH your key rather than completey separate from it.
