Question about material... Jul 03, 2010

If any original Madball owners read this, I'm wondering what these new ones are made of. I have the original set of 8 [I like their designs better than these remakes], and had 3 of the second set, Bruise Brother, Swine Sucker and Snake Bait. I stored them all in a cool dry place for years and only the original 8 survived. the second series was made out of a spongier foam and basically turned into balls of wedding cake over time. I just don't want to get any of these new ones if they're made of the same stuff as series 2 was. Any feedback would be appreciated!
Repvile = great new Madballs design Feb 26, 2010

I love the original Madballs, and collected them as a kid. So I was excited to hear Madballs was getting a reboot with new designs of the old series(s) and a few all new characters. Repvile is one of the new characters. The actual toy doesn't look exactly like the picture shown above (the eyes are red not green, the horns are fewer, less prominent and painted yellow-grey rather than white while others , the teeth are also grey, the gums have not been painted red and are instead a blue color like the skin/scales, the eyes have a black ring painted around the edge, the ridges on the back were originally shown highlighted but appear blue like the gums). Despite these changes I think Repvile is my favorite of the new Madballs we've seen and a great addition to the established lineup.
There was only one real drawback. When I opened the package, the paint around big eye was sticking to the plastic shell. I tried to remove it as carefully as I could, but a small patch of paint still ripped away. This actually happened to another new Madball I purchased. Upsetting, especially for a collector. So the paint might have still been a bit wet or tacky when it was packaged. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else?
I hope we see the 3rd and 4th series before too long!!
